Social Media: The 2023 Guide ✨

It's no secret that Instagram's glory days are well and truly behind us. I mean, seriously, back then it was all about posting pretty pictures and using the right hashtags, but now it's like you need a PhD in algorithms just to get your content seen. Sigh.

But, it's not all doom and gloom. There are still ways to cut through the noise and make your brand stand out on social. It just takes a little ✨creativity✨ and a willingness to try new things. I'm here to remind you that it's not an impossible feat for brands starting out today, you just have to remember that you're playing by a different playbook. Let's take a look at the winning playbook of a brand still upping their Instagram game in 2023:

"Instagram is for nurturing our current customers, and TikTok is for our customer acquisition."

Let's face it, Instagram isn't the growth machine it used to be. But that doesn't mean you should give up on the platform altogether. Your presence on Insta is still super important for building credibility and nurturing your community. But if you're looking to get some new eyeballs on your brand, it's time to hop on over to TikTok.

"Influencers are your content creators."

Brands just aren't getting the same bang for their buck from influencers these days. Gone are the days of blindly throwing money at influencers and hoping for the best. But, don't give up on influencers altogether, just be smart about how you work with them. By treating them as part of your content team and embracing user-generated content, you can create a killer social media strategy that stands out from the crowd.

"If that’s what’s working for us, that’s what we need to focus on."

It might sound logical, but you'd be surprised how many brands stick with a social media strategy that just isn't yielding results. If it's not working, pack it in to double down on what's working or try something new. It's as simple as that.

✨ THE GOLDEN TIP βœ¨ that yields fab results for Tribe Skincare: host a running giveaway whereby followers must comment on every single post throughout the month. It keeps people interested in the page. It keeps the algorithm on your side. And it's proven to keep Tribe's engagement really, really strong organically when others are seeing plummeting numbers.

The moral of the story: don't give up, girl. It's not the end of the road. Keep hustling and stay true to your brand. Who knows, maybe you'll be the one setting the trends on social media in the future!

Building Bonds: 4 ways to build community πŸ’•

Introducing Tori Lazar to our community ✨ Not your average biz consultant, Tori is a straight-up angel who knows just how to future-proof your bottom line through the power of community. With her Coaching Studio, howtofckupwell, Tori teaches entrepreneurs how to turn adversity into opportunity (& let me tell you: if there's one thing worth investing in as an entrepreneur this is it). Last week we dove into the ever-important and ever-complicated experience of Building Bonds as a brand, with 4 concrete tips you can use to build community today:

  1. TEACH πŸ§‘β€πŸ« give your community the gift of a handy how-to or life hack that members will implement into their lives and shout about (shared resources are a lifeline)

  2. RELATE πŸ’• being real to the new cultural currency, relate to your audience through shared hobbies & activities you can foster together (book club, anyone?)

  3. COLLABORATE 🀝 collaboration is at the heart of community: work together with other creators to create content and your audience on shared causes (from direct collaboration posts to running a giveaway together)

  4. GROW 🦚 grab any chance to champion and spotlight your loyal community members and share your gratitude (shout-out on stories, feature them in your newsy)
