1. How to scale into 1800 retailers πŸ›οΈ

EP462: How to scale your DTC brand into 1800 retailers like Walmart and Whole Foods with Ohh! Foods Founder, Brittany Charlton.

Think getting into your dream retail store was the hard part? Think again. Time & time again we hear that just putting a product on the shelf is the absolute worst thing you can do. You've got to go deep with the retailer. Here is your 7-point checklist:

[ ] SOCIAL MEDIA: are you deeply promoting your retail placement? (not just posting and hoping for the best, are you putting ads behind it?)

[ ] PARTNER UP: with the retailers (they already have the consumer sitting there), can you get promoted on their socials?

[ ] DEMO'S: are you allowing people to experience your product?

[ ] MERCHANDISING: what does your product look like on the shelf? Understand the bigger picture, what else is on the shelf?

[ ] DISPLAYS: how can you make a display in-store? (customers love that!)

[ ] STORYBOARD: build out a storyboard for your buyer (build out your success instead of having someone else build out your success)

[ ] FLYER ADS: a great cost-effective way to promote your brand

& don't forget to always be the one to take initiative. Be the one to lead that conversation with the retailer. Take that initiative and it will bring so much value right back. ✊

2. Busting the VC myth 🧨

This is such an inspiring and open conversation, especially around the topic of raising investment and what it truly means to go down that pathway in the VC world. There is such a stigma in the entrepreneurial world that the more money you raise, the more successful you are. We think it's about time to bust that myth. Parisa is all about growing your business organically as much as you can. Owning as much of the business as you can. And then raising consciously when or if that time eventually comes (aka: don't let anyone waste your precious time). Here is her top research advice for weeding out the time-wasters if you do go eventually down that route:

  • Are they active at the moment? 🌞 Make sure they are active in the VC space - and your industry - and in-the-know with all the latest goings on (dig into their latest investments)

  • What is their track record? πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ Check out their reputation and past successes to see if there are some names in there that inspire you

  • Do they look at other brands in your category? ⭐ It needs to be the right fit and the same synergy, make sure your missions and visions align
