🔑 Insights From This Week’s Episodes on the Female Startup Club Podcast

Directly from the women building the world’s most exciting businesses in the e-commerce and CPG space.

1. Act fast 🐇

EP288: Learning from Haley Russell, co-founder of Chippin, the pet food biz for dogs reducing the eco pawprint of pets and their owners.

Haley’s top learnings since being the one in the founder seat? Momentum loves speed. The pace at which you need to act is so fast. 🚀

“If something is not right with your packaging or a contractor you’re working with, or anything else, acting quickly has been one of my biggest learnings. It’s rare it gets better, it usually just gets worse.”

So, stay on the ball. Progress over perfection. Take action and move forward. Learn how to identify a problem and act swiftly, you don’t have time to lose.

2. But grow slow 🐢

EP290: Speaking with the longtime listener of the show about her story behind Love & Pebble, the beauty pops that have been popping off on TikTok.

When it comes to growth, however, Lynda Truong took one key piece of advice away from the Sharks after her experience on Shark Tank.

“It’s best to go slow.”

It wasn’t until Love & Pebble started running into issues that it became clear why. They grew so fast, they couldn’t fulfil our orders in time. Things started falling through the cracks and now they really understand the point.

  1. Listen to your customers

  2. Get feedback

  3. See how you can improve

Believe it or not, premature scaling was proved one of the most common causes of failures amongst start-ups. So in a funny way, slow growth might be the surest way to fast progress. Go on, give it a try. 👀
