Goal-setting for 2025 🚀
My adhd brain can be a real pain in the butt going in all different directions (aka not knowing where or what I should be focused my energy on). Helloooo brain clutter. Lol. So let’s do a quick exercise diving into my ultimate goal-setting strategy designed for founders and future founders. This process is about taking every idea-dream-goal floating around your noggin, getting them all down on paper and streamlining it into a set of powerful, focused objectives. Easy!
Step 1: Dream Big Brain Dump 🧠✨
First up: give yourself permission to think big. Set a timer for 10 minutes and write down absolutely everything you might want to achieve (no matter how ambitious, outrageous, or small it might seem). Ask yourself:
What do I want to learn?
What do I want to have?
Who do I want to become?
What do I want to create or contribute to?
What do I want to experience or try?
What places do I want to go?
Think beyond this year, where do you see yourself in the next decade? Use prompts like:
“My dream is to ___________.”
“In 10 years, I want to ___________.”
Don’t overthink it—just get every rough idea onto paper. This step might feel a little overwhelming (your list will be and should be LONG) but it’s the foundation for everything else.
Step 2: Timeframe Tagging 📆
Assign a number—1, 3, 5, or 10—to each dream based on the timeframe that you want to achieve it in. Whether it's seeing your biz right through to a successful exit (a solid 10-year dream) or learning how to master FB ads without an agency (a cool 1-year challenge), give each dream its time horizon. (The key here is to be realistic on how long things take.)
Step 3: Distill Your Focus 🎯
Now comes the fun part: narrowing your list to the goals that will define your year. For each timeframe (1, 3, 5, and 10 years), pick 3-5 goals that feel the most meaningful and aligned with what you want. Aim for a mix of goals that span:
Work: Your business, career or creative projects
Health: Mental, physical or emotional well-being
Relationships: Connections with family, friends or community
Step 4: Stay Accountable âś…
You've done all the hard work, now let's make sure you actually stay on track. It’s easy to fall back into old habits. Here’s how:
Get SMART about your goals: break them down into Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-Bound action plans.
Schedule check-ins to your cal: set quarterly reminders to revisit your list, track progress, and make adjustments as needed.
Celebrate wins: acknowledge every milestone, no matter how small, to keep yourself motivated throughout the year
By staying intentional and revisiting your goals regularly, you’ll be in an amazing position to make 2025 the big year you’ve been dreaming of.
Gold Tweets This Week đź’—
1/ What would your “Calendar Wrapped” teach you?
Basically; where are we wasting our time…. Jumping into Jan is our nudge to recalibrate. Less meetings that go nowhere. More work that feels aligned. Let’s make space for the things that matter in 2025 and get reeeeeeally good at saying no to the inbounds, so we can say yes to ourselves and what’s aligned to our priorities.
2/ Ins: evolving, outs:
Good morning 5am club. Things to let go of in 2024: self-doubt, laziness, low accountability, expired relationships, not following through, people-pleasing, waking up late, being unfit, weak mindedness & living without purpose. Evolve.🌷
