âNo One Screws More Prostitutes Than the Governmentâ
Advertising & Activist Queen Cindy Gallopâs Blueprint on Building World-Changing Brands đ
Being an entrepreneur isnât for the faint-hearted, itâs a wild ride filled with ups, downs, and everything in between.
But those of us (you!) dreaming big and daring to make an impact know itâs totally worth it. I was lucky enough to chat with Cindy Gallop last week - fierce advocate for sex positivity & gender equality - and the founder behind MakeLoveNotPorn. She shared her blueprint for building world-changing brands:
1. Persistence â
When youâre building something world-changing, youâre bound to face resistance. Cindyâs mindset? âIâm gonna fucking well show you.â Tell her it canât be done? Sheâs turning that doubt into pure motivation and inspiration. This isnât just about pushing through; itâs about showing up every single day with the fire to prove them wrong.
2. Resilience đȘ
âWhen you have a truly world-changing product, you have to build a new world.â And building a new world means youâre going to face challenges, obstacles, and maybe even a few skeptics along the way. Resilience is about embracing those setbacks, using them as fuel, and staying committed. Believe that: âThis is tough, but Iâm tougher.â
3. Mastering Your Mind đ€
A nugget thatâs already totally transformed the way I think: limit what you allow yourself to stress about. As an entrepreneur, there are a million things vying for your attention and worry every day. But Cindyâs rule? Focus on just oneâmaybe twoâthings to stress about each day. Bite-sized chunks. If you can tackle and solve one thing today, thatâs a win. The rest? It can wait until tomorrow.
And Always Remember: Interesting Things Attract Interesting Opportunities đ
When you do interesting things, interesting things will happen to you. That means following your curiosity, embracing bold ideas, and daring to stand out. Whether itâs your product, your brand, or your voiceâdonât be afraid to be different. Those risks? Theyâre magnets for opportunity.
So, hereâs the bottom line: donât just talk about changing the worldâbe it, do it. Embrace persistence, nurture resilience, and master the art of managing your mind. And when people say it canât be done? Show them, unapologetically, that it can.
14% of Brands are already on the BFCM Train!
DYK that 14% of brands have kicked off their BFCM promotions already? Brands like Alo Yoga, Primary, and Olive & Piper are already seeing big returns⊠Lets discuss:
Whatâs working for them?
Early Access đââïž ICYMI our full breakdown, Alo Yogaâs early access sale on Oct 30 (a week earlier than last year) outperformed their later, high-discount sales
Personalised Events đ Primary Clothingâs âFriends & Familyâ event boosted sales past $400K by keeping things exclusive and inviting
Loyalty-Driven Discounts đ€ Olive & Piper doubled their October sales with a âThank You Sale,â proving that loyalty-focused offers resonate
đĄ Lesson Learned: Early, brand-aligned sales donât just capture attention; they build loyalty and deliver high returns (before the mad BFCM rush)

Gold Tweets This Week đ
1/ Life gets so, so much better:
This one hit me deep this week. Imagine telling your 20-year-old self that so much of what we labeled as âfailureâ wasnât actually our faultâbut rather a result of trying to thrive in systems and expectations that werenât made with us in mind. Getting older is like finally lifting a veil: we start seeing that weâre not âtoo much,â ânot enough,â or âfalling short.â Weâre just breaking free from scripts that donât serve us. I love that.
2/ Take a hot sec to make sure youâre not making these mistakes for BFCM:
Biggest mistakes Iâve seen brands make on BFCM:
Unclear offers >> Confusing tiered discounts with multiple bundles & GWPs. Donât make your consumer think.
Unexciting offers >> Less than 25% isnât going to cut it. And your GWP might not be as exciting as you think.
