Preventing co-founder drama đźŽ

In the world of business, finding that perfect harmony with a co-founder can sometimes feel like a real struggle. Yet, what if the secret to a successful co-founder relationship isn't about finding the perfect person but more about how you choose to navigate the journey together? We recently caught up with Breanna Lane, the mother and business partner of the mind behind Glossy Boys, 13-year-old Lucas Lane. She spilled the tea on exactly how a positive lens has totally transformed their co-founder experience.

Breanna is a firm believer that one of the quickest paths to resentment in any co-founder relationship is a lack of clearly defined expectations. Not knowing who's responsible for what or where you're heading can lead to a chaotic journey. I can so relate. As entrepreneurs you wear a lot of different hats, it’s so important to make sure your responsibilities are distinct.

Secondly, let’s take a second to focus on the "language" co-founders develop between each other. Even when your co-founder's quirks sometimes drive you up the wall, there's always room to put on your positive lens. Your soft handle. You get to choose how to show up in this partnership, don’t you? So focus on creating a positive language which’ll in turn lead to a positive dynamic. Ta-da!

Lastly & similarly, it’s all about honing in on that “and” attitude. In the world of Glossy Boys, there's no room for "either/or." It's all about "AND." Breanna's philosophy teaches us that you don't need to compromise your personality or strengths in a co-founder relationship. Instead, celebrate both your co-founder's talents AND your own. We can all do with a bit more ✨and✨.

Majic Dilemma: you’re a Vogue-certified “trendsetter”… What next? âś¨

Picture this: your brand, once a well-kept secret, is suddenly in the spotlight. Your product has caught the attention of the media, and you find your business right in the middle of a PR moment. It’s cool, exhilarating, but most of all, it’s also a ✨golden opportunity✨.

In the world of entrepreneurship, the chance to shine brightly in the PR spotlight is a valuable currency. But, what do you do once the media spotlight is on you? How can you turn this moment into lasting success and growth for your business? This is exactly what our Majic member, Elysia, asked herself as Meke Baby featured as a Vogue Trendsetter this week.

Here's what the Majic group-chat had to say đź’

  1. Share the Excitement on Socials: as soon as the feature is out, make sure to share it across all your social media platforms again and again - and then again! (& boost the announcement with ads) bonus points for a reaction post!

  2. Press Release: if there’s one thing we know, press = more press. Email as many journalists as you can, specifically those talking about content in your niche, & mention your Vogue feature in the subject title

  3. You’ve Got Mail: reach out to your email subscribers to share the news and make them a part of your success story - this is social proof that goes along way with your loyal fans and customers

  4. Update Your Website & Bio: Enhance your website by adding a dedicated section or banner prominently showcasing your Vogue feature and also mention it in your IG bio; it’s all about credibility

  5. Jump On The Train: use the momentum to pitch yourself to various blogs in your niche (in this case google “top blogs for mums”), this could create a real opportunity to directly reach your consumer
